Last bits of summer

It's been a nice transition into retirement life, I'm still unsure of what I want to do next but I've been enjoying the freedom from the road bike and specific training.

Mr. B just chilling on the way to the trails.  What a good dog.

This is Ashley Carelock, one of the coolest ladies ever.  I'm so happy we are buddies.

Roadside find! Goes into the retirement fund.

This is leaving Silverton, CO headed back to Durango.  It was so beautiful!

Brad and I have been hanging with friends, riding more dirt and just generally having fun in the outdoors. We've also been helping with the local middle school and high school cycling program here in Cortez.  That has been a lot of fun.  Those kids are so skilled and they just want to play around on bikes, it's really refreshing and I'm amazed each practice at how good they are.

We also participated in a mountain bike ride in Durango organized by Todd Wells.  He is a ex pro racer, Olympian and a good person.  It was so much fun! I am horrible at riding my mountain bike but I was loving every minute of it, the challenges, the down hill, heck even the crash wasn't that bad.

Getting ready for our 20mile mountain bike ride.

Right in the middle of the ride.  Who's having fun???

We basically climbed up a mountain(or it felt like it anyway), overlooking Durango.  It was absolutely gorgeous! You can just see my blue kit through the trees.

We've also gone camping with friends which has been another new experience for me.  I was talking to mom and dad and I don't ever remember going camping before - dad said otherwise but I don't remember. So this is all new to me and I loved it! We only camped one night and that was a good start.  I definitely think the next go round will be at least 3-4 days, I mean you set up your tent you might as well make the most of the time there right?!

Trivia night, Tuesday nights at WildEdge.  Trivia is HARD but we have a good time and a good team:)

When you win - you get ice cream:)

The views are so worth the efforts.

Our camping dinner overlooking the valley.  It was perfect.

Next up Brad and I are headed to Salt Lake City to visit friends again.  I'll be sure to take some photos:)
