Post camp/travel to Belgium

Good morning from Oudenaarde, Belgium, the sun is shining and the high temp for the day - 40 degrees, a superb spring day here.

I had a couple of days in California after camp before heading over to Europe and those days were filled with errands before being abroad till April 21st - a couple of trips to UPS and a bike fit plus some wonderful bike rides of course.

Travel to Belgium was painless, I flew SFO to Newark, Newark to Brussels.  I watched 4 movies and a couple of TV shows and slept a couple of hours, I'm all caught up:)

We start racing this weekend, Saturday - Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Sunday - Omloop Van Het Hageland.

Photo time!

Getting a bike fit from NoExcuses.  It's always good to check up on things and make sure everything is in line...

Enjoying my final days in sunny CA

Cool cars around town...

Pretty homes everywhere...

When I talk to mom and dad, they are always curious on what things look like...so that's why I have random photos of houses:)

I just thought this was kind of funny...more and more homes are starting to look like this fire hazard...

Riding on the Sawyer Camp Trail, I saw this tree fenced in and had to google it.  Over 600yrs old!!!

Downtown San Mateo, some pretty murals...

This was right around the corner from the house, so I took a walk to check it out...

I walked around a bit but didn't go inside...

All wood on the inside, so pretty...

I like the wooden pews...:)

Early morning flight from SFO - 7am

In Newark, every restaurant and shop is mostly self service now.  This ipad is your menu and you pay before you get your food....

Part of the menu...

Then you swipe your card at the table here... I didn't like it.  I felt like we are cutting ourselves off from one another more and more.  The waiters and waitresses are now just food movers and there to assist you with technical ordering.  It's like walking into the Apple store.

This is what I look like on long flights:) All senses are closed down - ear, eye, nose.  It's the best I can do minus getting a first class ticket and laying down:)

When we landed in Brussels, the walkway to passport control has these posters for the 100th edition of the Flanders race that we get to do - pretty cool.

Jet lagged Hall...

This is the entrance to where we are staying - The ChainStay

You round the corner to the bike room...

Bottle storage...

The hallway upstairs to our rooms...

Brie and I are sharing a room...

Cold Hall....

Having fun while a flat is being changed:)
